A scoff escaped her mouth as Sora foolishly order four scoops of ice cream in a single large cup. Once her order was paid and given, the teenager nearly stormed down the walkway to a table nearby. Slamming the cup down, she sat, stabbing her spoon into the spring green-colored, mint ice cream. Her anger was evident, though she cared not who saw or stared. Sora's eyes were slightly narrowed, a small pout on her face, though her expression showed no sorrow -- only irritation. Staring, at her cup, she took note of everything, trying to rid her mind of the foul business she'd just gone through.
The dark brown, semi-dark chocolate chips were beaded with tiny droplets from the coldness of the ice cream. It's dark. Cold. Just like . . . Sora grabbed the spoon and quickly ate the ice cream. The cool, refreshing taste killed how parched she'd been from the sun's heat, but did nothing for her emotions. "Stupid parents," she muttered under her breath, her throat swelling, yet she'd gone through far too much to allow herself to be seen as a pitiful fool by letting simple drops of tears to fall from her glassy eyes, framed with long, dark lashes. She wouldn't allow so much attention to herself -- attention was stupid. Useless. What kind of idiot would want attention? Still, her thoughts went back to her main source of frustration in no time.
Why won't those jerks let me visit home? Sora thought agitatedly. I've been good this entire time! One semester. Just for one semester, I wanna go home. She'd recently learned that her parents had gone back to Taipei, Taiwan to visit old friends -- why hadn't they invited her? She could've seen all her old friends, her old home, maybe . . . maybe even Jiro. The thought of her old boyfriend made her grip her spoon and cup even tighter before shoveling the ice cream into her mouth. "Ugh!" Sora's brown eyes scanned the area around her.
Beautiful scenery lay before her, yet she hated it. She despised it with a ridiculously large amount of passion. This place would be her downfall. It was too much for her. She'd always gone to prestigious, formal schools. Here, where boys and girls so casually mingled, showed such signs of affection in public . . . Erugh. It sickened her to the stomach. She wanted to go home. To see everyone. The last thing she wanted to do was stay in this dump.

Somethings wrong with you - - - - - - - - - - - - - always in denial Xander wandered down the street with an annoyed look on his face. He'd just been visiting his parents, it was his sisters birthday but, as always when he visited, it had ended in a fight. He'd been kicked out the house and told to piss off and never come back. The only reason he'd been allowed to visit that time was because his sister had begged and pleaded, and he'd tried so hard to stay polite for her but he just snapped, he always snapped. Now he was angry and just needed to take out his frustration on something. He looked up from the path and the first thing he saw was the ice cream shop, perfect. Xander loved ice cream and he normally always had some in the house but after a few friends had come round, he had sort of ran out and had never thought of buying any more.
He pushed the door open, pulling out his wallet at the same time. Thankfully the line wasn't that long and he soon had his ice cream in hand. Xander looked around and spotted a girl that was alone and from the way she was abusing her ice cream, didn't seem to happy either. Now, most people would ignore her and keep walking, sit by themselves but not Xander. For once, he enjoyed the company and she looked just as pissed off as he was although probably for completely different reasons. He walked over to her calmly, a smirk on his face and just sat in the seat opposite her. Yes, that was an odd thing to do but Xander wanted company. It was that or he sat there plotting the death of his parents and as fun as that sounded, it was illegal and really, he wasn't that mean.
"You know, i'm not sure the ice cream deserves to be treated in such a way. What did it do to deserve to be eaten in such a violent way." Okay, so, now he sounded like he'd been stood there watching her, like some kind of creepy stalker and it didn't help she looked a little younger then him. The fact that he had been watching her though and yes, he might as well be a stalker had yet to cross his mind. Xander looked at the girl with curiousity and realised she really didn't look very happy. More annoyed then anything and if this had been one of his friends, he'd have worried so much but seeing as she was a complete stranger, he toned it down a bit and pretended to just not care that much when in reality, seeing anyone angry or in a bad mood made him feel sorry. He supposed deep down he was just a caring person, not that he'd ever admit that out loud.

The sound of the chair in front of her scraped against the floor as a person sat down. Her eyes not raising from her ice cream, Sora ignored the stranger, the weird intrusion irritating her all the more. She scooped another spoonful of ice cream into her mouth before twisting her body to turn away from whoever it was. She didn't want to deal with this . . . odd person who's of no significance to her as of right now. She wanted to be alone. Why could no one ever respect that? Sora's ice cream was growing much softer, she realized, before poking it again. Maybe four scoops was a bit too much . . . she thought, glancing at the cup. A puddle had formed, a few chocolate chips partially surfaced in the melted dairy treat.
"You know, i'm not sure the ice cream deserves to be treated in such a way. What did it do to deserve to be eaten in such a violent way." The words coming from his mouth . . . Sora nearly spat her ice cream out. Badly worded, she'd noted. "Are you kidding me?" she muttered in disdain as she dabbed a napkin at the sides of her mouth. Finally, her eyes moved to glare at him. Not too bad looking, but his attitude made her want to punch him in the gut. His appearance paired with his set of first words of talking to her seemed a bit odd. However, the amount of care she had for that: none. "What do you want?" the younger girl asked, her narrowed eyes flashing with a hint of threat. "Don't you have somewhere else to be? With your best friend? Your girlfriend? Anywhere else that's not here?" His appearance, as she'd thought before, wasn't too shabby -- she didn't know him well enough to dub him as a player or not, but she expected he had a girlfriend. Here, in this town, having a boy/girlfriend seemed to be a part of the hype -- good-looking people wouldn't usually be without one (or more). Then again, she really couldn't care less of whether or not the dude had a girlfriend -- she just wanted him to get lost.
Sora, not waiting for an answer, took in another spoonful before taking out her iPod Touch. Plugging the earphones in, her sort-of long nails tapped against the screen as she scrolled from album to album in search of some music to listen to. Being cold-hearted wasn't difficult for her -- not anymore, that is. She hoped he'd simply huff and puff like most idiots would and just leave, but, judging from the five seconds she'd known him, she couldn't be too confident. Headstrong people were always more stubborn than the others, she'd discovered over her years in America. Still, she wouldn't give up that hope; what she wanted was to be alone, and she had the time (and hopefully enough ice cream to take place of her nonexistent patience) to wait for him to get his ass off the chair and go away.

Somethings wrong with you - - - - - - - - - - - - - always in denial A grin formed on his face at the girls reaction. It amused him possibly more then it would a normal person but the way she looked at him and spoke to him was frustrating. She made it clear his company was not wanted or needed but it didn't matter, that going to make him go away. He ate a bit of his ice cream, raising an eyebrow at her. "Why are you glaring at me?" He asked her simply, knowing the answer to the question already. It would most likely be along the lines of 'because your invading my personal space' or 'I want to be alone'. The usual answers he got from people that were rather anti-social. It was something Xander could never understand, why someone would prefer to be by themselves then with company. It didn't seem much fun, spending the day alone with only your thoughts. Surely it was more fun to be around other people, have a bit of a laugh and a conversation.
He took her question to mean 'why the hell are you here, annoying me' instead of the 'what do you want' she'd actually asked. "Well, you were by yourself, and you looked annoyed and I don't like being without company so .. I sat here in the hopes to either make a friend or at least amuse myself by annoying you." He said with a shrug, well aware that that didn't make much sense and it made him sound a bit of a prick, not that he didn't normally. When she narrowed her eyes the boy nearly laughed. Really, what would she do if he didn't leave? Walk out herself? Once Xander decided to talk to you, you were generanlly stuck with him for the rest of the day or just until he found something better to do, not that that ever really happened much. "At the moment I have no where else to be, no." He answered simply with a slight scowl. Well, he should technically be at home for his sisters birthday but seeing as his parents hated him, that clearly wasn't going to happen. The scowl was soon replaced with a smirk though as he spoke again. "I love the fact you just automatically assume I have a girlfriend, it makes me feel much better about myself." Xander said with a laugh. "But I don't have one, so I can't exactly go and see her."
He then noticed his ice cream was melting rather quickly which didn't really matter anymore. He didn't feel like eating it because, what had seemed a brilliant idea a few minutes ago had clearly become a rather stupid idea. He looked up from the ice cream to see the girl had put in her earphones and appeared to be no longer listening to him. He wondered if the girl knew any manners at all seeing as this seemed a rather rude way to treat someone, no matter how annoying they happen to be. He didn't make a move to leave though, merely turned back to his dessert and ate it out of pure boredom, hoping the girl would at least be polite enough to introduce herself, although it appeared obvious that wasn't going to happen.

"Well, you were by yourself, and you looked annoyed and I don't like being without company so .. I sat here in the hopes to either make a friend or at least amuse myself by annoying you." What a wuss, Sora thought, still scrolling through her iPod. You'd think he'd be man enough to not need anybody at all. Wait . . . Does that make me a man? I suppose that's not a good thing . . . I love the fact you just automatically assume I have a girlfriend, it makes me feel much better about myself. But I don't have one, so I can't exactly go and see her. Cocky-ass. It appeared he didn't quite take her seriously when she'd said she wanted him to leave. Would it be okay to toss him in such a public place? No. She couldn't do that. That would attract far too much unwanted attention. So, pretending not to hear him, she finally tapped a song to play.
The moment the song began, she pressed next. Over and over again, it was as though none of the songs could possibly catch her mood. Loud rock music blasted into her ears, but none of the words could be sorted out through her brain -- she was too unfocused, too disturbed by the occurrences of the day. For five entire minutes, Sora pressed next each and every time. At last, she took the earplugs out, stuffed the iPod back into her messenger back and stood up abruptly, slamming her palm against the table. Heads turned, she was aware, but the awkward atmosphere this fool had just created was far beyond annoying. He refused to leave, his attitude was ridiculously cocky, and she was ready to kick him to the curb. If he dared to lay a single finger on her, Sora would give him no pity nor mercy to the surroundings; she'd throw him over the shoulder, just as she'd done with so many others before.
"What's your purpose for staying?!" she snapped, her palm still on the table, her face leaned in across the table. The chocolate brown eyes had an icy tint, and Sora was far more impatient than usual. "You can see I was here alone first, that I want to be alone, yet you're still here! Are you an idiot or something?" Her raised voice was sharp. Truth be told, though, her anger was rarely entirely due to a single person. Far over half of the time, her anger was partially from the single person, but mostly from personal problems, as it was here. But this meant nothing -- her attitude was simply like this. Those who couldn't stand her could simply leave her; she didn't care. Sora's palm curled into a tight fist, and she pulled back from her leaning half over the table. Her chin was raised slightly, head tilted slightly, her bag was hitting the floor from her tight grip, and her back was straight and tall. This was a sign of not resignation, but defiance, so her teachers had taught her. She refused to go along with what this person wanted.
Slinging her bag over her shoulder, Sora began to leave, her heels clicking once more against the ice cream shop's floor as it had when she'd first come. She cared naught of who now watched her. She'd accidentally made a scene -- a result from her bottled up anger -- but she could deal with it. The judging stares of others meant nothing to her.

Somethings wrong with you - - - - - - - - - - - - - always in denial Xander watched as the girl went through the songs on her ipod. Really, he didn't appreciate being ignored but he supposed he deserved it, he wasn't exactly wanted. He stayed silent for the little while that she was listening to her ipod, finishing his icecream. For the most part, her silence amused him. He wasn't sure why but he just found it funny that someone could pay this little attention to someone who was at least trying to be slightly civil. He laughed quietly to himself, who was he kidding? He wasn't being civil in the slightest, he was ignoring the girls wishes and intruding on her space and for a very short moment, the more polite, gentleman like side of him felt guilty and seeing as he was finished eating, he half considered leaving. That was, until the girl seemed to snap and stuffed her ipod away before standing up quickly.
Slightly taken aback, Xander stared at the girl, not sure how to answer. He didn't have a reason for staying, he was just fed up and decided to annoy someone, and that wasn't exactly the best reason in the world. It wasn't like this was the reaction he'd been expecting from the girl though. He naturally assumed that she'd ignore him or walk away without causing such a scene. Most people around here were just .. so much nicer then this girl seemed to be. "Well, sorry for being such a nuisance. Most normal people don't like being left alone and around here? Well most people don't mind having a conversation. Sorry for thinking you were the same, next time i'll try not to make that mistake." He replied simply, standing up to and glaring at the girl. He knew he probably deserved this treatment but really, there was no need to make a big drama out of it.
Feeling uncomfortable with all eyes on the pair, Xander watched as the girl walked away, looking as if nothing had happened. He quietly apoligized to a few people quietly before walking after her. "Next time, tone down the drama, and maybe the attitude love. You'll make a few more friends that way." He stated simply as he walked past her, pushing open the door and standing just outside. Xander took a deep breath and shut his eyes for a moment. If his friends had been here, they'd be dissapointed. Xander, although sarcastic and annoying, was normally more polite then that. The beginning of the day had left him in a sour mood and now it was up for the rest of the people here to deal with it.

His reaction was far from anything she'd expected. Sora's mouth opened slightly in surprise. Her eyes following him as he walked past her, saying those words, she wanted to scream, throwing her arms up in frustration. She stomped over to him, her bag dragging heavily against the cement, and she stopped right next to him, crossing her arms, though her eyes never leaving straight in front of her, never looking at him. "People like you . . . annoy me the most," she spoke, her voice calm, though a bit of regret (for saying this little speech) tainted her words. "You stated that you enjoy annoying people. Just saying right now, that's not a good idea to do with me. But you can continue if you'd like; I'll try to go a bit easy on you, but it's not likely I won't leave a few marks."
Blinking, she'd realized she'd gone off track. Shaking her head a little, she continued talking. "You caught me on a really bad day. Though I'm still as easily aggravated as today, I'm slightly more lenient on my good days. But I'm not looking for friends, just to clarify your idiotic suggestion earlier." Sora sighed, rubbing her templates. "I'm not saying sorry, but I will say this: I fully regret saying this crap to you. However, I suggest you tone down your annoying features down a few notches -- it could get you pretty hurt." Willing herself to smile, her lips curved in a half-smile halfheartedly. Her smiles had been perfected in the mirror as a show for her parents when they asked for pictures. She didn't see this as a different situation -- smiling for someone else. That's how it always was. She smiled for this stranger because he'd made her feel ultimately guilty. That was something she hated most about people -- those who made her guilty for acting cold. He'd better not take this the wrong way, Sora thought, turning back straight forward, her smile fading.
There were two ways she hoped he'd never think this as: one, as a lovey-dovey thing. She wasn't as in-tune with what couples and flirters usually did, so she wasn't quite aware of what did what. Still, even if he did, he'd soon find it completely false. The second way was in friendship. Sora didn't want this person as a friend. He was too sarcastic, too sociable. He was, as before, the kind of person she hated most. What made him all the more despicable, though, was his ability to make her feel guilty. That feeling was like poison to her; she hated it, and she hated being nice to people she'd only just met. You suck.

Somethings wrong with you - - - - - - - - - - - - - always in denial Xander raised an eyebrow. Had she just threatened him? She seemed calm enough but then, sometimes the calmest of people were fuming inside and from the way she spoke, she was pretty pissed off. "To be fair, I'm pretty surprised you haven't hit me already." He replied with a laugh, once again not taking anything too seriously. The way Xander saw it was, if the girl wanted to hurt him then she would have already, she wouldn't be warning him because .. well, it just wasn't what he was used to and so there for, it wasn't normal. Well, not to him anyway. "And I fail to see why people like me annoy you the most for there are far more obnoxiously stupid people in this world." He added on with a somewhat defensive tone. He wasn't all that bad really, he was just in a mood and so therefor felt the need to take it out on someone without causing any physical pain. She just happened to be the unlucky one he'd chosen, basically.
Gasping, Xander pretended to look shocked, acting slightly childish as he did so. "Why would you not be looking for friends?! Thats utter rubbish, everyone wants at least one friend." Although it wasn't all that surprising, from the way she'd acted he could tell she wasn't looking for company but still, he just found it odd how someone could enjoy being so alone. "And it's okay, because I completely understand. I'm having a pretty crapish day too beca-." He stopped short, she wouldn't care, he'd just have to find somebody else to rant to later. That or he'd just call up his parents and shout at them down the phone for a good half an hour or so. Normally that would help him feel a little better but sometimes it just made him feel worse, especially when he knew his sister had to hear it. Xander knew she hated the arguing but it couldn't be helped. Their family was utterly fucked, in the non-literal sense.
Grinning, Xander bounced on the balls of his feet. "So is that sort of like an apology? Because in that case, I'm very sorry I pissed you off. But look at this way, at least now you've had a semi intresting day because no offense but, you didn't look like you were having much fun all on your own." So maybe he was pushing his luck and he was going to get a slap, he could happily say it would be worth it. "And you can't say it isn't slightly funny. I mean, i'm an idiot, you have to want to laugh at me the tinyest bit." He said, using his fingers to measure a small distance and smiling at her. "I could try I suppose but, really, I'm not all that annoying. I could be a whole lot worse, if you think about it." The thought was enough to cause him to wince slightly. He didn't think he'd like to be extremly annoying because, no matter how used to pain you got, it stopped being funny after a while.

Still staring at the scene before them, Sora made no move nor twitch of the eyebrow. She was calming herself, to be honest, for this stranger was once again, causing her to be irritated by those words and the laughing accompaniment. Did he assume she was joking? It'd take only half her strength to deliver a punch that would leave a bruise on this person's arm, but she quickly changed her mind. I'm supposed to be less violent now, she reminded herself.
"And I fail to see why people like me annoy you the most for there are far more obnoxiously stupid people in this world." His tone made her scoff. "You must be a bit confused," Sora spoke, her own voice a this-is-so-simple-you-dunce tone. "There are five types of obnoxious people." She quickly launched into her elaborate and thorough explanation of each. The first type was the idiot; s/he has the intelligence to be considered a brainiac, but haven't the true wits to realize how to use that intelligence to their advantage. Then came the morons; basically the same as idiots, except they never had the intelligence in the first place. After that was the social-dunce; they blended in perfectly with the crowd, made friends easily, and thought they were the shizz. Their happy-go-lucky attitude made them completely unaware of all of the bad points in a situation. The fourth type was the fire-retard; wanna-be social-dunces who only knew how to troll, cause unnecessary drama, and rant/cry about their life to others who truly didn't give a damn. Lastly was the too-nice; their ability to forgive anybody and allow anyone to simply slide from revenge caused great guilt to the other -- in this case, it would be Sora.
"So do you understand now?" she asked, lowering her hands as she finished explaining and doing hand-motions for them all. "You're a special kind because you're a fusion of either an idiot or a moron, a social-dunce, and a partly too-nice." Nodding to herself, she pursed her lips together and crossed her arms. His surprise to her statement of not wanting friends made her laugh. Once she stopped, she lowered to a squat. "Who says I'm lonely?" she said, arms around her legs. "I've got friends in Taiwan. Making friends here would be completely pointless. Besides, all the people here are stuck-up and seem to have no sense of self-dignity. I walk outside and see a couple eating each others' faces off -- quite disgusting, really." He was a fool for asking her this question. It was obvious, wasn't it? Or perhaps she was simply too different from these people. Either way, she'd never want to befriend anyone from this town. She didn't want to be influenced by them, either; their goals were probably all short-term, and probably really lazy.
"And it's okay, because I completely understand. I'm having a pretty crapish day too beca-" When he stopped, Sora's eyes raised to his face with a questioning expression. "Why?" was her only question.
She sighed. Ah, how good it would feel to trip this little fool here . . . Nahhh. "Are you deaf? I told you this wasn't an apology. More like an explanation for my somewhat unreasonable actions today. And I was having tons of fun . . . sort of . . . Okay, shut up, I know." Sora nodded, running a hand through her hair. "A bit funny, but I would've laughed harder if you'd learned how to joke without being a moron at the same time." She stuck out her tongue at him before returning her gaze to the front for the hundredth time. That was true, the part about him not being as worse as some. Still, he was bad, nonetheless. At least now she didn't feel guilty anymore.
