Somethings wrong with you - - - - - - - - - - - - - always in denial Buzz, buzz, buzz. SMASH. The fourth alarm clock that week had once again been chucked against the wall by the blonde sixth former. This was a habit of his, he spent more money on alarm clocks then he did on clothes and food. Without the alarm clock, he'd never get up on time but he always got frustrated with them in the morning. Most people told him that, instead of wasting his money on alarm clocks, he could just use his phone. They didn't seem to understand that, anything that ever really makes a noise before 7am in the morning, is normally chucked across the room and broken in to tiny pieces. So it was a stupid thing to do when he could just hit the snooze button but really, if he isn't awake enough to remember his ABC's he can't be expected to remember the snooze button.
He laid on his back for a moment, letting his eyes adjust to the light that was now pouring through his windows. Typically, he'd forgotten to shut his curtains last night and was now paying for it as he was temporarily blinded by the sun. With a sigh he pushed his blanket off of him and padded into the bathroom. He had a quick shower, brushed his teeth and towel dried his hair. He normally left it to dry naturally in the sun and today, he just couldn't be bothered to use a hair dryer anyway. Then again, this was just like any other day for him. He pulled on a plain white t-shirt and some jeans before slipping his shoes on and heading out the door, grabbing his wallet, keys and phone on the way. It wasn't until he had locked the door to his apartment he checked his watch and realised he had, in fact, woken up early. It was only seven, he had an hour and a half before school started but he was ready now and he saw no point in going back to bed. Instead, he saw this as an opportunity to actually eat breakfast for once without having to rush.
He walked down the street at a slower pace, happy that, for once, it wasn't freezing cold. He enjoyed the rare days like this, when it was warm enough to feel the sun starting to burn you. It was only the beginning of the day, to, so it was bound to get warmer. Smiling slightly, Xander walked into starbucks, ordering a black coffee and muffin to go. Once paid for he politely declined taking the young cashiers number, explaining he simply wasn't looking at having a relationship at the moment. Although this clearly was not true, she looked like the type that would get bored of him quickly and well, he didn't like short relationships. He found himself wandering onto the beach, sipping his coffee slowly. He was finally starting to wake up, the caffine was doing it's job, thankfully. Knowing he had a while until he had to be at school, he continued walking along the sand, wishing he had worn shorts and sandels instead of jeans and trainers. tagged , open!wordcount , 524lyrics , i'm with you - go:audionotes , ohai <33

Ugh, another morning which was almost destined to be horrible and over cast, which seemed to be the typical Cornwall summer nowadays. It was more than depressing for Jared, he knew full well his friends who could afford to go abroad would go away and come back with some amazing stories to tell, and the best he would have would be the band he was in had managed to cover a new song, or write a few ones and begin practising them. His summers were usually crap, there was no denying it. "Morning James," he called to his cousin as he walked out the house in a pair of black skinny jeans, a Bring Me The Horizon t shirt and his black and grey checkered vans shoes. Simplistic? Yep, that was one way to describe him. He never made the effort to wear anything which was outstanding and made him 'more appealing' for people to talk to. It was just his choice of how he portrayed himself in public and to his friends.
Jared was quite shocked by the weather, and by the end of the road, he wished he had gone for some brighter, sun repelling clothes instead, as he knew he was going to completely roast in today's heat. Oh well, nothing he could do now, apart from suck it up. It wasn't long until he saw someone he had seen around his school, he was sure the guy was older and was now doing some stuff in the sixth form, as he hadn't see him taking any lessons with him, and he was sure the guy was there before Jared had joined the school. He debated on whether he should say hi or not, until he saw a spot in the sandcastle which looked like nothing had touched it all night. Time to make a change to that. He strolled over to it and began to build it up even further; oh yes. He was a child at heart. If he was down the beach, he'd be there in shorts, with a bucket and a spade.
A few people stared at Jared and his antics, but he didn't care; he continued to build the sand castle up, watching it get bigger and bigger. Pretty proud of what he had made, he grabbed his mobile phone, took a step back and took a picture of it; that one's going on facebook.

Somethings wrong with you - - - - - - - - - - - - - always in denial Xander chewed on his muffin thoughtfully as he continued his walk. He was wondering whether he could really be bothered to go in to school today, he felt like being lazy and really, what would it matter if he took one little day off? He ate the rest of his muffin before pulling out his mobile, tapping in the school number and hovering over the call button. Then he shook his head and sighed, of course he couldn't take the day off. He was a sixth former, every day at school was important for him. He shoved the mobile back into his pocket with an angry look on his face. Anyway, what kind of example would he be setting to his younger sister? He didn't want her to turn out like him and he was pretty sure his parents didn't either. It seemed un fair to him though, that he had to go back before most people purely because his teacher decided he needed tutoring. In fact, most of his summer had been filled with pointless crap about maths and science, his two least favorite subjects.
He took another sip of his coffee and looked around. A few more people where here now including one boy, who looked not much younger then Xander, building a sandcastle. A few people were laughing at the boy, most of them looked even younger and for a moment, it saddened him that kids couldn't be kids anymore. They all grew up so fast, wasting away their childhoods with dreams of getting drunk, one night stands and the party life. He'd been like that once, before he realised how stupid it was. The boy building the sandcastle didn't pay any attention to the on lookers and he didn't seem to really care either. Xander watched as the boy pulled out his phone and took a picture of the newly built sandcastle and he smiled. He thought he recognized the kid, well obviously he went to the school, or at least, Xander assumed he did. You could never tell anymore seeing as a few kids seemed to find it much more fun to be a dropout, for some odd reason. Why drop out of school, you'll never get a job that way.
After a moment of hesitation, Xander walked over to the boy, his eyes on the sand castle. "Nice to see someone enjoying themselves .. in a more appropraite way then most." He commented simply, his gaze darting to a couple a little way down the beach that looked like they were having more fun then they should be in a public area. Sure, public displays of affection were cute .. if it was just a hug or a kiss but .. Xander let that thought trail off with a shake of his head. He returned his gaze to the boy and his sandcastle, a smile on his face that could almost be mistaken for a smirk.

○ ○ YOU'RE LAID UPON YOUR TRAGEDY ○ ○ -- YOUR WINGS WILL CARRY YOU NO MORE --○ ○ I WISH YOU WERE DOWN ON YOUR KNEES ○ ○-- GIVING ALL YOUR PRIDE -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jared continued to admire his work, until he heard a few people laughing, to which he turned around and simply waved at them. It never fazed him when people took the piss out of him; as much as it should annoy him, he never let it get to him, or he never took it personally. To him, it just meant he could have fun and other people couldn't; sure he still went out and got drunk and had sex, but he didn't see the point in trying to hide the fact that he was still young, dumb and full of childish ideas. It would be a waste to not pursue his childish urges. Being a teenager was the stage in life where you could be young and immature, or overly mature and have no fun at times or find a medium; any of those were acceptable in society, and Jared would like to think he had found the middle. It was odd that anyone would come over and make a remark which wasn't bitchy or completely cuntish, but it happened rarely, and the guy now standing next to him was one of those decent people who seemed like they could appreciate someone just having a bit of fun in the morning. "Well, all I can say is I'm not like most people," he replied with a small smile, proud to be able to say he wasn't an alcoholic or drug addict, as that is what most of his year group at school were, sadly. It's surprising that the school hadn't done anything about it, but it was obvious they didn't really care about it too much, which was a shame, as their results could be a lot better, but at the end of the day, they're just getting paid and doing their job of going into the school and teaching for a few hours a day. "Anyway, what're you doing? Just trolling around town?" He asked, trying to make conversation, then flashing Xander a small, friendly smile. Jared hated the fact he was out so early with none of his friends; the lazy bastards were always in bed still at this sort of time, and it was at least eight am by now, maybe nine. Whatever the time was, it was irrelevant; he had always dragged himself out of bed by seven to make sure he would enjoy his day, unless, of course, he had been out the night before drinking, or if he had some how managed to pull and get laid. Jared shook off the thought of not having his proper friends around right at that moment when he looked up at the guy standing next to him, realising it's the guy who he had a thing for back in year eight. The guy must have been what? Year nine? Must have been. Still, that ship had set sail ages ago; he wasn't interested anymore, he had completely changed his taste in guys, and he was now going for the scene guys instead. In his opinion, much more attractive. Jared sat down next to his sand castle, then laid back slightly to his elbows were keeping him propped up, then he simply waited for Xander to either stay there, sit down or just fuck off. Either one of them was good for Jared. || WORD COUNT || 559 || TAGS || xander || NOTES || noneee. || LYRICS || if I throw a penny on the floor, will you dance? by This Is Atlantica || CREDITS || Made by JAKKATAKK at Caution 2.0!

Somethings wrong with you - - - - - - - - - - - - - always in denial Xander shot a glare in the direction of the giggling group of kids. It didn't seem to bother the other boy but one thing Xander couldn't stand was people mocking or laughing at others. It seemed wrong in so many ways especially since the people that were normally making fun of others were even worse and even less perfect. "Thats good, that you are not like most people, because most people happen to be idiots." Xander said, with a slight edge to his cheery voice. He knew that he probably fitted in to the category of 'most people' although he wasn't sure what you had to be like to fit into that category, he just knew that he was similar in some aspects to a lot of people, and it was normally those points of his personality that he hated the most. For example, the arrogant, cocky him was annoying and even he detested himself when he acted like that. Sometimes he just couldn't help it though.
"Pretty much yeah. I woke up earlier then usual so I thought I'd walk around for a bit, see who I meet along the way." Xander replied with a smile. Although he wasn't normally a morning person he was feeling pretty awake now and couldn't understand why he didn't do this more often. It was quieter in the morning, which made him a little happier because although he wasn't normally one to enjoy the silence, he found it rather refreshing after a night out. Not to mention it was a little cooler too then it was going to end up being at say, midday which, on a holiday or weekend, would be the earliest he would wake up.
He watched as the other boy sat down and then Xander sat down to, running his hand through the sand. "So what are you doing then? Apart from building sandcastles, of course." Xander asked happily. He wasn't really looking at the boy anymore though, he had his legs crossed and was moulding some sand into little shapes that didn't really resemble anything, it was just something to keep his hands busy. Xander couldn't really sit still for to long, he found he had to be something, anything, even if it was just tapping on a surface. "I'm Xander by the way. Sixth former at the school." He said, his hands gesturing in the general direction of the building. "And you are?" Xander asked, his tone polite, happy. He was in a good mood today, that was for sure.

○ ○ YOU'RE LAID UPON YOUR TRAGEDY ○ ○ -- YOUR WINGS WILL CARRY YOU NO MORE --○ ○ I WISH YOU WERE DOWN ON YOUR KNEES ○ ○-- GIVING ALL YOUR PRIDE -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It never really bothered him when people introduced themselves, he would usually just nod it off until they asked him who he was. There were so many rumours about him that all he'd usually have to do was speak his name and people would ask him if certain rumours were true or not. It sickened him in the stomach to be quite honest. How could anyone be so cruel as to begin rumours which could change someone's life just because they were bored? Pretty pathetic in his eyes, but who was he to stop it all? "Jared. Jared Carter. Same school, year eleven." He stated simply while drawing circles in the sand with his finger tips. He could feel the sand beginning to heat up slightly as time was beginning to get on a little bit. Not too late, though, but late enough for the sun rays to begin beating down a bit harder than they were. Jared smiled softly when two kids ran past him and Xander yelling the old 'Last one there's a rotten egg'. Those were the good days where nothing mattered in the world apart from who was 'it' in a game of Tag or Stuck In The Mud and the most stressful part of being at school was whether or not you had ham sandwiches or tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches. Personally, Jared always preferred the Tuna and Sweetcorn, he could never figure out why, it was just one of those things, although, Marmite always came on top over every other option. "Remember the days where we'd just run around with our friends and not have a care in the world about anything?" He asked trying to make conversation, even though he figured he probably sounded like a complete dickend. || WORD COUNT || over 200 i'm guessing. too ill to care. || TAGS || xander || NOTES || sorry it's so shit. i might be recovering but i'm still not too well.
