Ten years ago, by causes and means currently unknown, the human race was mass converted into data. Unable to exist in the 'real world', humankind, changed from the conversion, became trapped in the virtual landscape that it still calls home today.
At first it seemed almost like a dream. After all, technology was invented to help bring the wishes and imaginations of users to life, and this was never more apparent than now, when humans became a physical force in cyberspace. Anything was possible.
But a strange energy is what gives them this physical presence, and as it was soon discovered, only a certain amount of this energy exists in this virtual dimension, and it's constantly diminishing. Running out of it means death. And there is only one way to gain more - steal it from someone else. This pixelated paradise only offers two options - kill or die. Perhaps this virtual landscape isn't such a utopia after all...
